Ayran is a refreshing yogurt drink mostly prefered during hot summer days. Althought it was invented by Turks (like yogurt) it is consumed in other parts of the Middle East and Mediterranean as well.

Ayran is a very healthy drink with its light cream consistency and possible to prepare in a few minutes. All you need to do is to mix yogurt, plane water and a pinch of salt.

A salty drink can sound funny to most but, it is so popular in Turkey  that it is readily available in most of the restaurants  and gracery shops.
